Responsibility of Fathers in the Family

Joshua Augustine

A Christian father is to bring good leadership to his family just like our Lord Jesus leads the church (Ephesians 5:23).

A Christian fahter must love his family, making time to listen to his family, taking interest in their practical needs, and being available to do things and go places with his children, all this is part of showing love to them (1 Corinthians 13:4-8).

A Christina father must be faithful, loyal and committed to his family, not cheating his wife but must be faithful. He shouldn't forget that Christ prohibits polygamy, adultery and pre-marital sex (Genesis 2:22-24, Hebrews 13:4).

A Christian father must know that the financial needs of the family are very important. He must be involved in daily work that will earn him income to support his family (Genesis 3:19, Provers 10:4).

A Christian father should be a living example to his children. All children learn by copying. Therefore, we have to present to our kids a life that is good to copy (Ephesians 6:1-4).

A Christian fahter must always keep learning about his family. The more years that go by in your marriage, the more you learn to appreciate your wife and your family.

Together with God, you can become the father and husband God wants you to be.

May God bless all the men in the house of Jordan. Amen.
